UFO Horizons

I was introduced to the topic of UFOs (now called UAPs: Unidentified Anomalous  Phenomenon by some) by a teacher I had at Ventura College in  the mid 90s. He casually said something while lecturing about aliens coming here and a government cover-up as if it's just a known thing. After class I questioned him about his comments and asked for a book to read on the subject.  I was pretty incredulous about the whole idea at this point, but my teacher just seemed so confident about the subject that I read the books he recommend.  There have been many books since, but the first books that really got my attention was The UFO Experience by J. Allen Hynek and Above Top Secret by Timothy Good, with later of those two simply blowing my mind (more on the books below).

This webpage that follows then is an overview of "the phenomenon" that I have continually found compelling and interesting.

Presented below are thoughts, commentary, theories, and sources that have been the accumulation of my researching into the field. There is a lot of stuff out there and these are just some of my favorites.  I want to also say that most people that are looking to understand our deeper shared reality that read books like above Top Secret and learns the details of The Nimitz Encounter and other quality evidence, rarely leave without serious questions and maybe some new ideas about a topic often easily dismissed.  

Note out of habit and for ease or reading I have largely used the term "alien" rather than the jargon NHI (Non-Human Intelligence). Alien implies creatures from another planet, while NHI could also mean intelligences from another dimension, or the future, that live underground or deep in our oceans, etc...  More than ever, many people into this topic believe the other beings are from another dimension, some people think they may even be from the future. So anytime I use alien I mean beings that could be any of those possibilities ("alien" to us), although personally I think they are from other planets and/or other dimensions at this time and not the future, though they may be a persistent presence here. 

Note about "Disclosure." Disclosure, which I have a lot more on later down, is the idea that information about UFOs will be disclosed by governments, people, groups, and/or agencies, that already have information proving existence of some NHI phenomenon not available to publics at large. 

Further down I present more about what I hope disclosure will bring as well as concerns I have as well. But one thing seems certain: when disclosure happens it will be the biggest news story in recorded human history with the most consequences: reframing many people's ideas about who we are, where we fit into the universe, and the very nature of reality and our religous beliefs and more.  

Finally, at the very bottom of my page I have some information on where to report sightings and where to go if you're a whistleblower. 

Thoughts, Commentary, and Answers to Questions (A good place to start for new, curious, and skeptical people looking to get a handle on all this):  

Over the years reading about UFOs (now being called UAPs by many) I have read and heard a lot of questions and arguments such as: "how could the government keep this a secret so long?" "Why would aliens want to visit us?" and so on. I want to spend some time giving what I think are good and plausible answers to many of these questions. However, no matter if you think the answers or ideas are good or not, it doesn't change what Commander David Fravor and his wing person saw while also verified by independent radar, it doesn't change all the sightings and seemingly impossible maneuvers, it doesn't change the leaks and spills from whistleblowers, including Congressional Testimony under oath. Just because we might not understand a phenomenon, doesn't mean it isn't happening.  Monkeys in the jungle probably can't comprehend what humans are walking around doing, let's say  on an ecological survey, but it doesn't change that we are there with our trucks and gear and have reasons and technology the monkeys could never even guess at or comprehend: maybe we're the monkeys? Finally, here's a quote from Arthur C. Clark:, "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." Maybe that's why so many people have trouble believing? 

So here's some of the stuff I hear a lot and my answers

"I believe in aliens too, of course they exist. The universe is too big for there not to be other life out there." While this isn't a question I want to get it out of the way.  Many people and most scientists now believe there is probably life on other planets. What I, and many others believe is that there is compelling evidence that there some type of Non-Human Intelligence "out there" that has been coming here.  Furthermore, that elements within some of the world's governments know this as well, and have possession of physical evidence of this claim in the form of craft and bodies.  

"There's no way to go faster than the speed of light, aliens could never come here.. it's too far."  Answer: There was a time when people thought flying was only for birds, and the technology of today would be complete magic to someone from 2000 or even fewer years ago.  An alien society could easily be thousands or even millions of years ahead of us technologically and it's ability to travel would be as mystical and impossible to us today as a helicopter would have been to the Egyptians, It's not like we broke the laws of physics in the last 2000 years when we developed helicopters or chemical rockets, lasers, and the internet, we just understand them better and have newer and more complete ideas,  about science, and much more advanced technology. Quantum stuff is a good example. Entanglement, superposition, and non-locality are mind bending and don't make sense within the context of our day-to-day observations, but it doesn't change the data. It's somewhat arrogant to think that we KNOW what can and can't be done with physics and technology, especially from an intelligence far far more advanced than us.  This argument about science and technology covers any of the other questions people might skeptically ask such as, "how could any craft going that fast and doing such maneuvers not crush the pilots?" or "how could they get that much energy and store it?"  It's a lot like the existence of the universe. We don't know where it came from, but we know it's here. 

"If they're so advanced, why do their ships crash?" If people from 2,000 years ago saw our planes and helicopters they would be miraculous to them: we would be like Gods with our planes, cell phones, guns, etc... But all of these things can malfunction and planes certainly crash. Perhaps it's simply the same. Maybe our atmosphere is very challenging for them to fly in? We can only guess why they might crash, but we do know even our best technology malfunctions as we continue to push the boundaries of what's possible. Why would it be any different for them? 

"Life evolves for specific environments, aliens couldn't possibly survive here on earth." It's true that life evolves for specific environments, so aliens probably could not naturally survive on earth. Humans cannot naturally survive in the Arctic, at high altitudes, deep underwater, Antarctica, or in space for long periods without adaptation and technology. However, in a relatively short time we've developed tools, clothing, shelters, breathing systems, vehicles, and other innovations that may seem simple now but were revolutionary at the time that allows us to survive for extended periods underwater, in research outposts in Antarctica, and in space. It is not a stretch to think that an advanced species could develop technologies — or even use genetic engineering — to allow some of its members to operate in a very foreign environment like Earth, especially considering they could be so advanced that their tech would be as magical to us as a  car of today would be to a Mongol. 

"Why do they look the the aliens from movies and T.V.?" That idea of the "Greys," the short little aliens with the big heads and eyes, mostly came into prominence from the account of Betty and Barney Hill, a couple who claimed they were abducted by aliens in 1961, and subsequent encounters later.  So perhaps the "crazy stories" people told about how aliens look, were actually the truth (at least most of the time) and then Hollywood took off with it? Also, they may look like us because evolution has found bipedal creatures in a humanoid form as being the most successful form for an intelligent species. If Deer in North America could talk they might wonder why so many other animals look like them if they went to Africa: gazelle, ibex,  impala, etc... However, some people think we look like them because they influenced our evolution or even "seeded" us here: weird stuff. Finally, quite a few UFO researchers think they are clones, or some type of biological robot. Maybe even an avatar for an interdimensional species that it used to travel in our reality. Again, weird stuff beyond any claim I would make (more on those out there, speculative theories below). 

"The government could never keep secrets like this for this long (there would be leaks)." It hasn't been secret, there's been a bunch of leaks. This is why there are  so many of UFO books with reports from former government officials saying what they saw or know. There are released documents, and anonymous and open reporting.  Of course there are a bunch of UFO books and people attracted to the phenomenon who are "out there" and make the whole thing look bad and get a lot of attention for their bizarre claims, beliefs and activity, but that's true for any group.: there are both Republicans and Democrats that are quite fringe and get an outsized amount of attention and make the other side think these extremists represent the party. They same is true for religions and other groups as well. Back the the point. There are leakers, and released information, and former Intelligence people who have testified under oath to Congress, but the "crazy people" make the whole things look silly and they get too much attention. Also, I think it's pretty clear there has been a culture of disinformation and suppression among the military intelligence community at various levels to suppress reporting's and disclosure.: pepole have even been killed as far as we can tell. A good example is the story of Matthew Sullivan, and futhermore, the missing and dead scientists (more information below). Still, there have been leaks.   Check out the books I recommend further down below. 

"Why would aliens want to visit us? We are so silly/unevolved/violent/etc...?" Any species that can travel interstellar distances is probably very scientific. We have scientists that spend their whole careers looking at things like sea sponges, or types of flies, living in the jungle studying various ants and so on. I would think they would find us and our planet full of biodiversity interesting, at least a subsection of them of their version of biologists. This brings us a possible answer to the next question I hear...

"Why wouldn't they just announce their presence?" It could be that they know the best way to study us is by not showing themselves. In science "The Hawthorne Effect" (or "Reactivity") is when the presence of researchers influence the study.  It could be that to better study what we are really like, they don't want to make contact. It could be they are not even very interested in us: maybe they are more interested in our bacteria, or animal life, etc... I don't announce myself to the bugs in my backyard when I walk out there to do something, and maybe that's how they see us, not worthy of open contact. Some have suggested that to announce their presence they would end up giving us tech (in a direct or round about way) that would be too dangerous for us to have given our nature.  Some have suggested they come to our planet to "fuel up" using sea water for hydrogen. Some people think they are subtlety helping us evolve on our own and their presence would make too many of us default to them for leadership or even start to worship them (a good teacher doesn't want either of those outcomes). Some people even think they have a agenda that if we found out about we would openly resist and that they can better achieve their nefarious plans if we stay largely ignorant and passive. Again, we may not now know the answer: but it's doesn't change observational data from trained pilots, radar, etc... nor the released documents and whistleblower testimony.

"Why hasn't NASA, etc... seen them yet?" Space is really big and we've seen very little of it. So far we don't have the resolution to see planets outside our solar system very well. Even more, the edge of our galaxy is 950,000 light years way. So any signal sent out that we could detect from the edge with our technology, for example, would have to be at least 950,000 years old. Maybe they "sent" signals that haven't gotten to us, but in the following years have found ways to make wormhole or gravity drive engines.  Speaking of gravity drives. many people think this is the means they use to travel and they make pockets of gravity that bend space time and that bend in space time, or a "gravity bubble" distorts detection even naked eye or camera recordings such that they will remain undetected or blurry. This tech isn't that far fetched and many people are thinking they use a sort of Alcubierre drive, which is a real concept that could be built, we just don't have the tech to create, harness, or direct the energy required; maybe they do? Regardless, it doesn't seem that that their technology requires them to straight line travel through space to our planet. This answer now moves on to the answer for the first question: maybe it's simply tech we don't understand, like some type of cloaking tech, jump drive, etc...? Regardless, we see them here. Just because we don't see them travel in space, doesn't disqualify the sightings by qualified people and the leaked knowledge.  And finally, there are many who think that higher, secretive levels of NASA, have scrubbed images in the past to cover-up UFOs or just simply removed images of them. Perhaps that's the answer?

Why haven't more scientist been exposed to the evidence and come to the same conclusion that we're being visited? Scientist have limited time and money to research everything and they also have reputations and egos to protect, especially in competitive university settings where reputation and results gets funding and job security. This subject is fringe and the results are not easy to come by, nor are there products or other innovations steaming from UFO/UAP research. Furthermore, there have been many times in history where the current scientific model has been challenged, and while sometimes those challengers are quacks (Perpetual Motion Machines, Cold Fusion, Phrenology,  and more), there have been other times where giant breakthroughs were derided as nonsense by scientists who were taught a more traditional belief and built a  working model of reality on it, only for us to find later that indeed the new ideas, shocking as they may be, are true. The heliocentric model of the solar system,  Sunspots, Planetary Motion, Continental Drift, Germ Theory of Disease, The age of Earth, Meteorites, What Causes Ulcers, and Neuroplasticity are examples of times when the few who dared assert these now accepted views were literally laughed at in many cases and in others evidence was just thrown out as nonsense.  The UFO/UAP phenomenon could very well be yet another time in human history many top scientists have been wrong and THE VAST majority just weren't even looking to begin with: again because of lack to time, and to protect their jobs, egos, funding, and because the negative reputation of the subject because the quacks it the field are over exposed. However, there are people like Harvard Psychiatrist, John Mack, and Astronomer, J. Allen Hynek who went in to study the "nonsense," and came out believers and these are just two examples. 

"Why are aliens only seen by Americans?" "Why do UFOs only show up in America?" UFOs are seen all over the world. In America, we mostly hear only about domestic sightings or sightings by our military. However, UFO sightings are distributed all over the world reported by both citizens, and foreign militaries. Some of the most famous events such as the Ariel School incident in Zimbabwe, the Varginha UFO incident in Brazil, the Belgian UFO wave, and the Rendlesham Forrest Incident in the UK are some of the most prominent cases in the history of UFO studies.

Not surprisingly the most sightings are where people live and have access to reporting information, as most sightings are not reported. 

"Will they destroy us," "Are they dangerous?" (or some version of fearful stuff) If they wanted to  wipe us out they surly could have already.  However, for them to get so advanced and still be alive suggests they might have something of a peaceful nature (as least to themselves), otherwise the technology they have would probably have been used at one point to wipe themselves out (as we might do to ourselves). It's very unlikely an advanced warlike race could develop tech even more powerful than nuclear weapons without destroying themselves along the way.  However, they could be quite malevolent to us and/or see us as without any semblance of what we would call morality or value. Maybe they think of us just as resource: they way we've thought of other sentient, but less intelligent animals such as livestock? Nonetheless, if they wanted to simply wipe us out, unless they're waiting for something, they almost certainly already could have.  

"They seem to be interested in our nuclear weapons, isn't that a warning they're scouting our ability to defend ourselves. Like they're planning an invasion?" It's true they seem particularly interested in our nuclear weapons, but also our reactors. They also have turned nukes on and off in different areas. They also seem to be very active in observing war zones, all the way back at least to the "Foo Fighters" or World War 2.  However, despite all that, they haven't done anything clearly aggressive and with their tech. They could probably destroy us from space or maybe with an engineered bioweapon or something we can't even imagine as haven't done any of those things seems to indicate they are not overtly hostile. 

"Are they good or bad."  I already covered some of this here, and there are more thoughts on this below. Nevertheless, it might be like asking are people good or bad? Some are more bad, some are more good, and it depends who's asking: a loved pet, or a factory farmed veal calf? So far they seem pretty hands off as far as we can tell. Furthermore, we might be dealing with more than once group of Non-Human Intelligences, as many people think, and they might have different views on humanity: just like different groups of humans have been more brutal and oppressive to others, and other groups more kind and helpful.  But, once again, if they were here to destroy us or enslave us, it seems that they could have already done that easily,  yet they haven't. 

"If elements of the government suspect or know that non-human intelligence has visited us, why wouldn't they tell us?" This one has a variety of possible answers. The main answer is, we don't know why for sure, but it doesn't change the data. We don't have to know someone's motives to know they are doing it. People often wonder things like "why would that guy do that?" or "why did he not like me?" and all types of other situations in which we simply don't know the reason a person, or a group did something, and we can only take guesses. I will present more on this idea in the next section, "Best Guesses," and in the section "What Might Disclosure Bring: Hopes and Fears" relating what some researchers have said and some of my own guesses as well about why the government might not be telling us about NHI visitation. 

"Couldn't it just be a psyop (psychological operation) being played on the people of the world? Some type of disinformation campaign?" If there are no aliens of NHI, then there is a coordinated world-wide psyop going on from the forests of England, to the towns of Latin America, including military officers of almost every country, countless pilots and "fake" whistleblowers and others who have reprimanded, scared, or lost their jobs. If it's a psyop ,it's one that's gone back to the Foo Fighters of WWII and even before that.  So many agents, so many false IDs, spanning decades, so many "dumb" people with degrees or just liars as well as released documents from ours and other countries and testimony  from little children, to average joes, to military officers to leaders of the world that all describes similar things. I think the simplest answer now-a-days is that there is a NHI interacting with us. 

"Are they angels or demons?" People throughout history have looked to the unknown and tried to categorize different things they don't understand to fit religious or superstitious ideas they've already developed. For example, diseases in the past, was often seen as  evil or as curses, but later we found out it was bacteria and viruses. Many Europeans thought witches were spreading the black plague and  later found out that it was a bacteria, and that the people they thought were witches were often just social outcast woman. When Europeans first came to the Americas some of them thought the natives were less than human and/or didn't have souls, something that would be repeated in other regions of the world.  When James Cook came to Hawaii, some Hawaiians thought he was the God Lono, as he arrived near the time of a festival for that God.  Some Aboriginal people thought the Europeans coming to Australia were spirits of the dead. In many of these cases the people interpret the unfamiliar into their existing schemas; schemas that were ultimately in need of refinement and accommodation (change).  In this case, we are the native people. These types of misinterpretations extend to animals and other natural phenomena as well.  Some fossils were thought to be dragons,  oarfish and giant squid were thought to be mythical monsters.  More, the Northern Lights were seen to some as omens, and eclipses and comets as signs of divine anger. Finally, in a world in which no knowledge of neurology was present people still used the divine and the damned to explain many things and example being people often thought schizophrenics were possessed, or touched by God.  Now we give them drugs that, while not perfect, often have positive effects and minimizing symptoms. Of note: while many people have had negative experiences with NHI, many others have had positive ones and as far as we know, no one has been killed by them. The point is it's not safe to jump to conclusions not supported by the evidence we have so far. That evidence only seems to show that they are a different type of intelligence that has technology we don't understand.  Later I have a link to a page about UFOs and Religion for more thoughts on this . 

"Where are they from?" Don't know. We might be dealing with more than one group of NHI (Non-Human Intelligence) and they could be from different places. Some scientist even think they could be from different dimensions, at least some of them.  A smaller group of people even think they're from the future, deep underground, or an alternative earth: wild. 

Best Guesses And Bigger Picture Ideas From Years of Reading/Researching and thinking about UFO Stuff

Anytime you think about UFOs and talk to someone there seems to be layers of belief. For example the first layer is the concept that could there be life elsewhere in the universe, most people are with you at this step.  The next steep is agreeing that it could be intelligent. Often most people concede this right away as well. Next, is to establish there are indeed Unidentified Fly Objects (or Unidentified Aerial/Anomalous Phenomena) UFOs or UAPs. This is also pretty clear even Obama admited there's stuff flying around and we don't know what it is. After that is probably to demonstrate that the witnesses in quite a few cases (read hundreds) are highly qualified, sometimes have seemingly nothing to gain and oftentimes clearly things to lose (mostly military here), and  that in many instances there are multiple witnesses  and/or radar or other technical readings of such objects. That these witnesses would not be easily mistaken by the glare off a windshield, the planet Venus, a plane, etc... The next step is looking at what they see: metallic appearing objects with no obvious signs of propulsion, no wings, no control surfaces, and can perform maneuvers that nothing anyone has ever seen a known technology able to do by vast margins (example going from 0 to Mach 2 in under a second, or making a 90 right turns while traveling at such speed). Furthermore, they are clearly intelligently controlled. Finally, they resemble nothing any country has ever been shown to have on the ground, in the air or anywhere. Technology can move pretty quick, but no other country could have developed something like this. There have even been sightings further back in history, before humans even had planes of similar objects.  After this step the next part is considering that it's an off-world intelligence. And to keep the options open that could mean: interstellar, trans -dimensional, or some such thing we couldn't even being to imagine. I myself am pretty much 99% here. 

The next steps are reserved generally for UFO enthusiasts, people who like to listen the UFO people speak, conspiracy junkies, and the maybe an increasing number of open minded (some of which, admittedly are too open-minded) people who are reading more recent articles and watching more recent videos from below. I would say knowing which one of those a person is, or you yourself are, depends on how much knowledge has been accumulated and how well they can synthesize it all, and especially what sources you find credible. So, the next step is believing part of our government (probably in conjunction with some private industry) knows Aliens (whatever they are) have been coming here.  The  book "Above Top Secret" has good stuff on this. But you can also look to  David Grucsh, Christopher Mellon, Lue Elizondo,   the book "UFOs: Generals, Pilots, and Government Officials Go on the Record," the whole story about the Roswell incident, Bob Lazar's story, Stanford Professor Garry Nolan, Nobel Prize Nominee Dr. Hal Puthoff, Dr. Eric Davis, who testified we have recovered materials to Congress, and Ret. Rear Admiral and Ph.D. Oceanographer Timothy Gallaudet who believes elements of the government know we're not alone as well as Colonel Karl E. Nell  .. If only 1 of these people or incidents is accurate it means that elements of the government know aliens exist and probably they have recovered materials and or craft. Also, if only 1 of these people are correct, it probably means that others are, to some extent, also correct: a type of convergence of people saying similar things. An interesting, example of this is that both Former Canadian Minster of National Defense Paul Hellyer and Retired brigadier general from Israeli, Haim Eshed, who was also the former chair of their Space Committee, a professor of aeronautics and astronautics and winner of the highest civilians honors you can get in Israel (the Chief of Staff Citation and the Israel Defense Prize), both who have come out and talked about UFOs and a "Galactic Federation" of Aliens. If only 1 highly decorated and "in-the-know" person mentioned the Galactic Federation it might seem they're losing their mind, but there are two guys doing so. This point about convergence of claims is important, and I am going to get to that, in particular with the case of Bob Lazar in the next paragraph. If you're feeling overwhelmed by all these names, I would start with David Grush, Christopher Mellon, and Eric Davis' testimony. I am 90% sure that elements in our government know for sure there is an non-terrestrial intelligence visiting us and that they have crafts and/or parts of their crafts in their possession. 

About Convergence and Bob Lazar. Lazar came out in 1989 and claimed to have worked at a base near Area 51 called S-4. While there he said he was briefed a little on the program but was then given his job trying to understand and reverse engineer the propulsion mechanism of recovered UFOs, of which he said there were many. He claimed he was told the aliens came from Zeta Reticuli, that they used an element number 115 (which wasn't on the period table at that time), that the aliens used craft that use a "gravity drive" to bend space-time to travel very very fast without the penalties of inertia. He claimed they have gravity emitters on the bottom of the craft and that when they really want to go fast they travel on their side. Over 20 years later we now have videos of saucers from all over the world rotating onto their side while flying high and/or fast (though not always), Element 115 has since been made in particle accelerators (but so far we can only make it last for a very short period of time), but Lazar says it's not the isotope the aliens used, and other whistleblowers have said we have worked to try to reserve engineer the multiple craft we have. I find it unlikely that as videos from around the world have come out (and of course some videos could be and are fake) they all thought to align their fakes with Lazar and show disks traveling on their side (the "Gimbal" video is a good example of this, but there's other videos as well). I am trying to say that I don't think people all over the world knew what Lazar said about how the craft fly and tailored their videos to match. Lazar has also passed multiple lie detector tests about his claims. There is stuff to doubt about Lazar and his life hasn't been perfect, but his story is consistent and more and more is being collaborated in a round about way. This is just one example, not the best even, but a simple one to relay here about the concept of convergence of evidence. 

There are other places to go if you want to speculate further: (and weirder) there are the Cattle Mutilations, Crop Circles, the ideas of being visited by different, not just one, species (and the fact they all seem to speak to us telepathically), alien abductions (thought this isn't as weird to most UFO folks especially since the -now deceased -head of the Harvard Department of Psychiatry, John Mack believed in it after interviewing many people claiming to have been abducted first as a skeptic), and other elements of the phenomena that are even more fringe for now, such as channeling NHI intelligences and other psi phenomenon.

Next, I want to relate some ideas about why elements and government are not being transparent with what they know. I will give a range of theories and guesses people have made from some that seem "more" reasonable, to some that seem quite out there. 1: The government(s) are scared of mass panic and society collapse. They are keeping the best interest of civilization in mind and just want us to maybe slowly find out, if at all. Some people think this slow revel of the truth is happening right now. An extra thing to mention is that some UFO people think that perhaps some of the people that have hid evidence don't want to let out the truth because they have been willfully hiding something that can get them into trouble with congress, the government, and the people as it wasn't their info to hide. 2: The government is trying to horde the technology for the military. Whistleblower, David Grusch says there is an "arms race" between the U.S. and allies, vs. China, and Russia to see who can figure out the technology first. Letting it out would end up causing citizens to demand full transparency and the monopolization of the technology would no longer be possible. Or maybe the technology is just too dangerous to let out as bad actors on our planet could do too much damage wtih it. 3: Another take on this is held by UFO researcher, Dr. Steven Greer. He thinks the governments don't want the technology to get into the hands of regular people as we would then have virtually free and unlimited energy and the big companies that run the government suppress the technology for the reasons of profit and control. 4: Another reason is that aliens have been abducting people and once people find out that aliens are real, it won't be a big step to figure out abductions are real too and that the governments not only knew this was going on, but can do nothing to stop it and chaos, and fear will reign. Some people (this if far out there) think there has been an agreement with the aliens to trade elements of their technology with us with us allowing them to adduct a certain number of people per year or whatever. Even further "out there", some think the aliens haven't held up their end of the deal. Off the top of my head those are the main guesses/theories/conspiracies about why the government(s) haven't been transparent with citizens that elements within them know that, indeed, aliens (non-human intelligence of some sort at least) has been visiting. Of course there is always the idea that the government is so disorganized they really don't know what they themselves are up to or how to do it release information or even know what they know.....? 

Another interesting, and maybe bigger question, might be: why haven't the aliens openly contacted us? There are different theories about this, not surprisingly, and one idea is simply they see us in the same way we see plants or ants (fill in your own metaphor). They study us or just pass through and have no interest interacting with us at large and maybe know that if we know about them at large it will ruin their study Maybe we'll just make a hassle for them. The idea of us being studied is referred to as the "Zoo Hypothesis," with some people even thinking they created us through an enhanced evolutionary process. However, some people would argue that they have shown themselves enough and done so purposely to slowly acclimate us to their existence, as currently we are not ready: technologically, spiritually, politically, etc... and maybe that they are even trying to slowly evovle us. Some people have suggested they are indeed interested in life, but all life equally and that they are here to foster the thriving of life and monitoring it, but not especially in regards to us. Finally, some people think there is a nefarious takeover planned by them or some such other thing and they are manipulating inner elements of governments and world leaders, even our DNA, to get whatever they are wanting, but we don't know what that might be. Nevertheless, more and more people are thinking the aliens (or NHI "Non-Human Intelligences") are the ones in control. 

What Might Disclosure Bring: Hopes and Fears

Someday if any of the above stuff is true, there might be disclosure from the powers that be that indeed Non-Human Intelligence has been visiting us. Maybe this revelation will be on their own initiative, maybe forced by public demand, maybe it will be the aliens that revel themselves, or force the revel?  In any instance of world-wide realization of Non-Human Intelligence (alien) life existing, and interacting with earth, there are various hopes and fears that many people, including myself, have.  Why should some people in government have the right to know the details of if we're alone or not but the rest of us can't?  Reality shouldn't be classified.  

In the past I have been optimistic about society learning about the existence of aliens. My thoughts have been that it would make us feel more like brothers and sisters and as one on our planet. It would give us insight into the nature of reality and the universe, and settle and reframe many philosophical and religious debates. I have hoped it would make us a more scientific, and a less dogmatically religious and nationalistic people. Furthermore, I would hope it would make us more hopeful for a peaceful future as the aliens clearly must have found a way to live longer than we've been around and with much greater technology without blowing themselves up or some other induced doomsday. Finally, it might be that they share with us technology that helps us live better, and maybe will be a catalyst for social reforms that give us various solutions to problems we face (better ways to govern, learn, and otherwise organize society).  In the end, even if things go well overall, there will be some of the issues from  the next paragraph at levels that significantly impact society. Even if disclosure is limited to  just the knowledge that some type of NHI is coming here I suspect  it will fuel resarch by our top minds and institutions to better figure out the nature of the NHI, their technologies, their societies, and their movties thus bringing about many of the benefits listed above.

Neverthelesss, there is a term that is being used more recently called "Catastrophic Disclosure," that conveys many concerns and fears about the world-wide knowledge of aliens coming to light.  One of these concerns is a phenomenal distrust of government due to decades or withholding information and extra-legal actions on their part (like killing innocent people to keep thisa secret) resulting in government being either ineffective, or in attempt to keep order, overreaching.  Then there is the fear that too big of a critical mass of people would turn to fear and push the government to militarize at all costs with social services and freedoms falling by the wayside. Even worse, government might start activly try to war against the aliens that far outpace us technologically, such that we create or escalate tensions or hostilities with a group we could never defeat. Another concern is the retreat of  too many people to fanatical interpretations of religion that may, at the least, set society back, or possibly be disruptive through wars and terror. Another thing would be if there is some information released that causes devastating reactions from or about the aliens themselves.  An example of this is the abduction phenomenon. If it comes out that yes, there are aliens and they abduct us at will, deceiving us at will, and simply don't care.  So, if people are being abducted, which I think they are, I hope it's for a greater good, but that oftentimes seems like a stretch.  Finally, there will be the general shock that we are not even close to the most intelligent creatures, and maybe some of the stuff we will learn will upend people's beliefs (particularly religious beliefs which I address a little more in a section below) such that there will be mass anxiety, fear, and panic. Or maybe we're some big experiment and if the world finds out the truth the aliens will wipe us out and start over and so the people keeping this a secret have been working for a greater good all along? 

Finally, to sum up reasons why some people in this field think they're has not yet been disclosure, assuming that we are being visited by NHI are mostly one or a combo of the following with variations on these themes as well:

1) National Security: we want to try to keep the knowledge, and especially the tech, to ourselves.  And perhaps we want to keep the tech and science out of the hands of bad actors.

2) We simply have no plan, or maybe no unified plan on how to proceed with disclosure that will be safe for the people and/or the government.

3) A desire for people invovled in legacy coverup programs to not have accountability for the extra-judical activies they've been invovled in: lying to congress, misallocation of funds, intimidation, kidnapping, murder. 

4) Fear of societal disruption with market collapses, ontological shock, religious chaos, and death.

5) The coverup needs to be perpetuated because of the dark secrets that have been found out about the nature of reality or the nature of the NHI presence.

6) Agreements with NHI to keep the coverup going with a variety of different possible incentives.

7) Simply not a priority.

Some people think that maybe we're being prepared slowly for disclosure? This idea of being prepared slowly is the idea of what many called "Soft Disclosure." That government(s), or even the NHI (Non-Human Intelligences) are slowly getting us ready for disclosure so we won't freak out too much. Some people even think groups within the government have secretly influenced Hollywood and other media sources to get us more use to the idea of NHI presence: Spielburg's name get's mentioned in this context, but other's  as well. 

For continuing information about this phenomenon I would look to the Richard Dolan, UAPGerb, Jacques Vallee, Clifford Stone, David Grush,  but there are many more. I will try to always be adding stuff here and there: but a lof of stuff is happening very quickly.  Even if the government lets out what they say is all the information they have, why should we believe them, after lying for all these years? 

A big change in this topic has been the releases of UFO/UAP files more recently by the "Department of War" which you can find on their site with this link: https://www.war.gov/ufo/#release However, most researchers, including myself, would say there is A LOT more they haven't shared yet, and maybe haven't even gotten access to.  However, many people think this is the beginning of controlled disclosure. 

UFOs and Religion and Science: Perspectives

Now for some other really far out stuff:

(that's getting less and less so)

 The following stuff is  even more "out there," that some people in this space have suggested or reported. However, none of this stuff has strong evidence or that many people testifying to it's authenticity, but not that few either...and some of these things are looking less and less "far out" as time goes on as more reports come out and whistleblowers come forward. 

One is that there, more and more, looks like there could be 4 or more alien species visiting us with the main groups being the Greys (which seems to have more than just one type,  with many thinking the shorter ones are some kind of clone, biological robot, drone or "avatar"), the "Tall Whites," the Reptilian, and the Mantis type. Both the Reptilians and the Mantid supposedly only have a passing resemblance to looking like reptiles and praying mantis, and are not considered actually reptiles or insects. Interestingly the Mantis being seem to be in charge of the greys whenever the two are seen together.  Some abductees even claim to have seen all the different types together.  (see further down in the "articles" section for more information on the mantis types in two articles I have links to). Some people even have claimed to have seen the Mantis beings during meditation or DMT trips unrelated to UFO experiences and experiencers. 

Many abductees also report activities related to a hybrid program in which alien and human DNA is being mixed in ways to create hybrid beings. This claim is so common it's hard to overlook in the world of abduction experiences. If it is true: we can only guess why they are doing that: wanting to coexist with us, scientific curiosity, evolving us, getting ready for a take-over or other? Some people say the hybrid program is because the Greys are trying to reverse the alterations they've done to their own species in order to survive the damage they did to their planet. Furthermore, some think the Mantids are helping them with this. Even more bizarre, that people on earth who are part of they hybrid program agreed before we incarnated on earth to help with the program.

Another idea, that is gaining more followers, is that maybe some or all of these beings are interdimensional, rather and from just another planet. The idea that is that they can come here, or even create creatures that can. That there is some "higher dimension" they are from, which is why they seem to phase in and out.  Some people think they are caretakers of our life on earth as they watch us grow or maybe even guardians keeping the universe safe from us, and maybe us safe from ourselves as we develop more technology. One theory based upon what some people have said they actually have knowledge of is that the "friendly" aliens don't want to make contact with us until we evolve more as too many of the people in power would just want to figure out their tech and make weapons of it: very powerful world-ending type weapons at that.  Further, many people who have met the Mantid beings through abduction or taking DMT have related they seem to be in charge of our reality to some extent, but it's often not clear in what way in to what end. 

Another idea a fair amount of people in this field thinks has some traction is that elements of our government have worked with or have had treaties and contact with the aliens. What is sometimes called the Greada Treaty of 1954, or "The Alien Treaty" or "Edwards AFB Treaty" is that President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed a treaty with the aliens for technology while on a "vacation" in Palm Springs in which he disappeared for a bit. The nature of the treaty often is told as Eisenhower rejecting an offer by the Nordics which would require us to give up our nuclear weapons, in favor of getting technology from the Greys while letting them abduct a small number of people on the condition they wouldn't harm them, wipe their memories, and give the government a list of whom they abducted.  Many people who believe in this having happened also think the Greys ignored the terms of the treaty and abducted many more people then agreed upon, and some say they didn't come through completely on giving us workable tech.  There is also a reported landing later 1964 (or May 14th, 1971) at Holloman Air Force base that some say was filmed and to be released, but later the people in charge changed their minds.  More recently, there have a been a lot of people from researchers, experiences, and even psychics (see the next paragraphy down for more on that) that have reported seeing or learning about aliens and humans working together sometimes on craft, but mostly in Deep Underground Bases (DUBs).  Mostly these shared ventures are about either tech development or the hybridization project. 

One thing all experiencers relate is that all of these beings communicate, in every single story, with telepathy. While this claim is common, the "far out" stuff is that this raises some profound questions about the nature of consciousness and of simply what we don't understand yet about the universe. There are many people who don't even study UFOs who are postulating that consciousness is a quantum field and that us individuals are like radios turned into one station, the "you" station so to speak. That with practice, or even with drugs, or meditation, we can transcend/leave our bodies and rejoin the field, or the source. Near Death Experiencers seem to all relate that they were in contact with something bigger, something they were somewhat part of, when they were "dead" and out of their bodies.  Also, on this point, remote viewing is getting more traction in the UFO community with many people referencing CIA's project StarGate. Some remote viewers have even said to remote viewed alien bases with humans and aliens working together: one is supposed to have been in Mt. Hayes in Alaska. Of note on this point, there is a famous remote viewer and out-of-body experiencer, Robert "Bob" Monroe  who worked with the CIA and later started the "Monroe Institute," that after years of work/exploration as a psychic suspected that humans were being "mined" for psychic/emotional energy he called "loosh" which could be harvested from any type of strong emotions, with the strongest being love.  

There are also reports of people involved in the conspiracy kidnapping psychically gifted people and using them for controlling craft or breeding them for a variety of reasons.  I'll put a video that really goes into these darker theories right below, followed by another video of different, but not the only, speculations of why they're here. 

Finally, there are some people claiming that these beings are connected to what we would call "the afterlife" and spirituality, but not in the sense that they are angels from heaven and demons from hell (though some people do indeed think this, as their theology is an anchoring heuristic). The general thought is that people who were seeing what they would call angles, seeing stuff in the sky, witnessing certain miracles, and so on, have interpreted the phenomenon through their theological viewpoints that were established and even later refined to explain things they otherwise could not. Author Erich von Daniken, wrote a book called, "Chariots of the Gods," in which he interprets many ancient believes and artifacts as perhaps being inspired by aliens.  See my UFOs and Religion and Science Page for more on that.

I mentioned above in the questions that some people think the government could never keep this stuff secret. Well, they don't some leaks, that's why there are so many books and videos and now testimonies. However, people have been killed to keep this stuff secret. Here are some videos about that. There's no solid proof that any of them died to protect the coverup, but the dots seem likely to connect.

People/Things That Possibly Give the Experience a Bad Name

There are many things that give the notion of belief in UFOs a bad name. However, some are easier to detect than others. It's easy to see some stuff on YouTube as sensationalistic, but other people and things are much harder unless you have back ground knowledge it would be easy to think they are a good, reputable source.  Note: some people would put Bob Lazar in this category. 

A letter I just wrote to someone about the phenomenon and adjacent elements (5/8/26):

I have been interested in this subject since early college when I had a college professor mention very casually that UFOs were real and there are underground bases, etc... and then went back to his lesson. After class I respectfully asked him about his comments and for books to read...and that got me started. 

Separately, I have been interested in psychology type stuff and the human mind as well as religion, beliefs and so on. So I started reading about Near Death Experiences on my own as early as late H.S. By now I've read hundreds of NDE accounts and watched numerous (least a hundred) videos by both experiencers and researchers. 

Separately, again, I have been interested in people that took heavy amounts of strong psychedelics (DMT and Ayahuasca) and have reported "break through" or "ego death" experiences in which many reportedly went to other realms and, like the NDE people, experienced very similar experiences. More, many of these people, while on drugs, met very similar beings: machine elves, mantis/insectoids and so on. There is a lot of reporting of this on YouTube, by both experiencers and scientists who study the reports and effects.

Separately again, I pay attention as best I can, with my little brain, to science news and there are more and more people postulating that consciousness may be a quantum field effect. That our bodies are more like radios such while the radio waves are everywhere, my body is only set to one station, "Sam." So while I feel like me and my body is all there is, we can, with things like meditation, prayer, psychedelics, NDEs, and maybe what some may call "grace," have experiences out of them, where we connect to source/God/spirit and to a profound interconnectedness. Interestingly, people who have NDES, and people who have "breakthrough" psychedelic experiences pretty much all say where they went was even more real than this reality. Another very interesting thing on this subject is that ALL the people who claim contact with other intelligences whether it's "aliens," beings while having an NDE or during a psychedelic experience have telepathic communications, with instant mind to mind communication. Much of this has gotten me to reevaluate my thoughts on psychics, remote viewing, and channeling (thought I am sure there are many frauds in this field, some may be legit, and quite a few who claim to channel ETs have said 2026 is the year of disclosure and 2027 is the year of open contact). 

More, I wonder if entering into a "spiritual" (transdimensional, astral, quantum, out of body, etc...) realm is something that some people have been able to achieve for a long time, but only very recently has science been able to even possibly understand how perhaps that could be a thing. Much like ancient people could predict the length of the day and how long the sun and moon would be up, but didn't understand why the orbits were so stable as they had no knowledge of gravity and orbits, or people knew that kids would sometimes be boys or girls, but didn't know it was the male sperm that carried the deciding factor. My point being there are many things throughout history that most, many or, some people knew about, but didn't know how they worked so they came up with mythologies and/or what would later found out to be pseudosciences to explain the mechanism(s).  

Back to UFOs. There are more and more researchers of the subject starting to speculate that at least some of them are interdimensional or at least can transverse dimensions. This reframes what might have been seen as a purely technological and biological mystery into something that some may call spiritual, or perhaps just an advanced science or medium that we cannot yet describe with our science as of yet (in the same way tides, lighting bolts, diseases, etc... were once attributed to God(s), but are now explainable in ways that make us able to understand, manipulate, create, or even cure). 

There is pretty much no empirical evidence that I've seen for any of these, (except the UFO stuff to a small extent) that is testable, falsifiable, and repeatable, but trying synthesize and evaluate much of this to see has been a background passion of mine more recently in my life.
